Happiness

When your face is smiling
But your eyes are crying
When your body's moving
But your heart is dying

Take a step back
Look around the world,
stars and flowers, open skies
Birds out singing loud

Take your worries in your stride
life is but a bumpy ride
smile your way throughout
that what it hink happiness is about !

On Loneliness

Mein kabhi akeli nahi rehti...
kyunki mere saath humesha tanhai rehti hein.

on sorrow and pain

ek din, maine hriday se poocha
agar mein aakhein na kholun to
kya samay ko behka paungi?
dukh ke palo ko kya undekha hi
aage bada paungi ?
hriday ne kaha aakhein kholo..
kasht ke kan bhi kartar ke krit hein
dukh ke suron mein adbhoot sangeet hein
khojo to inmein bhi anand se bahut gehra
saundarya aur samman hein
yehi maanav jati ki pehchan hein

on faith

I dont know if God exists but faith makes me a stronger person... below are mini-bhajan type lines that i suddenly started humming one day...

ram naam bhajne se sab bhay bhag jaate hein

nirbal to bal raamji de jaate hein

ramji ke charno mein aakhe band kar so jao

bhakton ke dukh ramji nahi seh paate hein...

this is one of the longest ones i have written...inspired by a spanish old castle

dhalte hue suraj ki pyar bhari nigahe

aur bicharne ke gum mein bhari thandi aahe

sun sharm se laal shaam ne sehamte hue se

ghoonghat khola

ye dekh pavan ne pedo ke patton se bola

ab purani khandhar jald se jaaon

itihas ke panno se chipi, bachi yaado ko

yahan le aaon

aur thirakti machalti khilkhilati yaadein

ek baar phir

mere angan mein, mere bujhe hue aakhon mein samaa gaye

mein khushi ke palon par hans pada,

gam ke sayoon se seham gaya

mein jeevan ke lay se sangharsh se

khoon mitti aur paani se

ek baar phir heraan ho gaya

aur phir in yaadon ne

raat ki leherti aanchal ko thama

mere jivan ki roshni ko

chand mein laga kar

timtimate sitaron mein milakar

amar jyoti kar dala

this one is written a long time back probably around 2003

I stood up tp solitude

And looketh into her eye

"Who bindeth thee to

plague the lands and the sea?"

"I serve no master', she replied

"Every child is born with me inside

I stay with him through  his life

Sometimes hidden, sometimes realized

And when all worldly possessions fall aside-

On his death-bed , I survive

As his one and only confide"

"But", I objected,"What

about Beauty and Joy and the like?"

She smiled and said

"Illusions are not meant to stay,

Love shall always betray

I am the Eternal Truth

For Solitude is the soul of Mankind"
